Job Overview
The Administrative and Ministry Assistant serves as the gateway to the church office. The candidate represents not only Lebanon Baptist Church, but the love of Jesus Christ himself and must demonstrate genuine concern for others. The candidate must show a willing attitude of Christian service.

The Office Administrative Assistant will also assist the Family and Recreational Ministries Director in the administration of the Kids’ Ministry program along with other ministry-related projects as requested by pastoral staff members. The incumbent will also manage church communications, to include weekly emails, text messages, and social media updates on general church announcements and the kids’ ministry.

Duties and Responsibilities

Office Administration Duties
• Answer phones in a pleasant and professional manner and direct calls appropriately. Screen staff phone calls per their direction.
• Screen, respond to and/or forward email correspondence sent to the general church account.
• Assist Lead Pastor and Operations Manager with special projects as directed.
• Perform general office work; maintain supplies and files; keep records and compile these into detailed reports upon request.
• Exercise tact, courtesy, confidentiality, and diplomacy in receiving callers and visitors.
• Edit, prepare, and print documents as requested.
• Maintain an adequate supply of office supplies, to include paper, pens, etc.
• Check mail and distribute accordingly. Sign for packages and distribute to recipients.
• Photocopy documents and assemble as needed.
• Keep accurate church records (e.g. church members, births, deaths, etc)
• Assist the various ministries with clerical needs such as recordkeeping and maintaining records in the church management systems, as well as assisting with creating registrations for events.
• Produce weekly emails, text messages, and social media posts to relay important church updates/announcements for both general church information and the kids ministry.
• Process expense reimbursement requests from staff or church members ensuring adequate documentation and forward to the Operations Manager
• Process staff and church member credit card receipts and expense claims as directed by the Operations Manager

Ministry Assistant Duties
• Assist the Family and Recreational Ministries Director in the administration of the Kids Ministry Program
• Work with the Family and Recreational Ministries Director to ensure that curriculum needs are met, that the selected curriculum is being followed, and assist Sunday School teachers and other volunteers in administering the selected curriculum.
• Assist the Family and Recreational Ministries Director with the recruiting, selecting, training, and scheduling of volunteers for the respective ministries.
• Assist with the planning and execution of the Awana and Wednesday Night Kids’ program.
• Assist the Family and Recreational Ministries Director with developing the weekly kids’ church presentation for both services.
• Lead and direct the nursery program to include recruiting, selecting, training.
• Lead and direct the younger elementary kids’ program.

Required Qualifications/Skills
• High school diploma or GED
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Must possess and exercise good social skills while interacting with staff, church members, and visitors, including those in times of need

Preferred Qualifications/Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in a ministry-related area
• Proficiency with Planning Center products
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online
• Experience working with young children and parents, preferably in a ministry environment
